As soon as you come through the remarkable chiselled copper door, you will be amazed at the space, quietness and spell of the site.
Two adjoining authentic ryads dating from more than 200 years, loaded with history, were restored, one adjoining the other : the first one in 2003 (ZOUINA YAMANI) and the second one in 2008 (ZOUINA AMAZIGH). The residence has been turned into Guest House with deepest care of preserving the priceless architectural inheritance and with the full respect for Moroccan traditions.
Communicating doors at each levels of the house have been created, making up one unique house with 2 patios. The privacy of each ryads has been preserved and the whole house gets huge collective parts : 600 m2 of floor,500m2 of terraces and only 10 bedrooms.
The ten bedrooms (5 in RYAD ZOUINA YAMANI + 5 in RYAD ZOUINA AMAZIGH) were equipped with care of details. The whole walls are covered with warm-shaded “Tadelakt”. Each bathrooms with separate toilets, built in “Zelliges” tiles from Fès, are harmoniously decorated with handcrafted basins and taps.
In the first floor, the large living-room seems like an artist studio with its wide glass windowpanes opening onto a central courtyard of lush greenery. You will appreciate taking diner next to the open fireplace which makes the winter evenings magical.
In the large columned patio, surrounded by the flowered and musical atmosphere, you will be invited to appreciate the soothing sensation of the jacuzzi (Heated from April to end of October).
The wide terrace with solarium and open-bar, offers you the opportunity to breakfast in the warmth of the rising sun for most of the year.You will be delighted when you experience the exceptional view from the panoramic terrace over the whole Medina and the gardens of Pacha Glaoui's palace. The Koutoubia minaret seems to be gazing down upon you and the snow-capped High Atlas mountains encourage you to sit down and meditate.
In the private “Beauty Area”of RYAD ZOUINA, you will be delighted to experiment with traditional hammam and benefit from massages and body cares with Argan, Amber, Musc, Orange-cinemon or Atlas Cedar Oils, according to age-old traditions.

Hibiscus

Double bedroom “Hibiscus”located on the patio, opens its cedar door to original architecture and traditional decor: finely chiselled lacework stucco, antique painted hand ceiling (“Zouaqui”), “Tadelakt” walls in salmon red color. The Suite “Douiria” is a twin bedroom located in a wing of the first floor and was used as a reception room where the master of the house invited his masculine guests. Today, a separate entrance opens onto a wide bedroom with lined brown “Tadelakt” walls. An antique carved cedar wood ceiling with a cupola made of stained glass allows natural light to stream into the room.The bathroom with its deep green-colored hand-worked “Zelliges” tiles is equipped with copper basins, hand-crafted taps and wide shower and bath. The toilets are private and separated from the bathroom.

Double bedroom "JONQUILLE” is located on the first floor of RYAD ZOUINA AMAZIGH. It opens its cedar door to a wonderful antique painted ceiling (more than 300 years old) with such a romantic alcôve. Magnolia

Jasmine

The double bedroom “JASMINE” located at the ground floor, Amazigh side, opens its splendid door in cedar on the raised garden and the fountain. The walls in “tadelakt” of color orange, are raised by an old ceiling out of wooden of cedar. The bathroom, arranged in zéliges traditional, has of two copper basins, a large shower and separate toilets. A third auxiliary bed is available in mezzanine.

"Nous avons réservés au riad zouina grâce aux différents avis que nous avions trouvés sur le net et nous n'avons pas été déçu.Il est propore, calme, accueillant et frais. A 2 pas de la place et l'équipe est parfaite.Nous
avions la chambre Gentiane (la moins chère), elle est correcte pour un "1er prix", rien à dire. Chambre qui ferme à clef et il y a une armoire qui ferme également, penser à avoir un cadenas. Catherine and Maurice do their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one, and the Moroccan ladies who work in the house are adorable. Out of 5 places we stayed at in various towns, Ryad Zouina was by far our favourite, though it was cheap.
